Dressage Trainer Willy Arts Joins Equine Team Matrix
Dressage trainer and rider Willy Arts is one of the newest members of the
Equine Team Matrix. Arts is owner of DG Bar Ranch in Hanford, California and
is one of America's leading young horse trainers.
A native of Holland, Arts has a long and varied career in horses. As a youngster,
he even participated in the sport of vaulting. His talent for working with
young horses appeared early in his equestrian career and it's a talent that
has been honed over the years. Today, Arts is one of the top young horse trainers
and riders in the U.S.
Arts has several times qualified horses to compete in the National Young Horse
Championships. With Waterloo Se, he earned the 2007 national championship title
for four-year-old horses. In fact, in 2007, he qualified three young horses
to compete in the national championships. This year, Arts has been sweeping
the Six-Year-Old competitions with the Dutch Warmblood mare Valeska DG. He
and Valeska have even earned themselves an invitation to the World Young Horse
Championships, scheduled to be held in Verden, Germany this summer.
In fact, it was the invitation to Verden that got Arts to start Valeska and
a few other horses in his barn on the Matrix. Arts said Dr. Marvin Hausman,
lead developer of the Matrix, convinced him of the benefits of the Matrix in
reducing stress on horses and promoting good health and fitness.
"So, I decided to try it on some horses, and actually I also take it
myself, and I'm hoping to see good results before I head to Europe with Valesak," Arts
said. "I had also heard from others that the Matrix was working on their
horses and I try to stay up to date with everything and with the studies."
Arts joins a prestigious group of riders and trainers from several equestrian
