Mushroom Matrix is a Hit at SupplySide West
The Mushroom Matrix was the center of much attention at this year's SupplySide West convention, held in Las Vegas November 6-8. On hand at the event was the Matrix's own Marvin Hausman, MD, otherwise known as Dr. Mushroom. Recent research presented at SupplySide West by Dr. Hausman offers proof that the Mushroom Matrix does increase the level of antioxidant/anti-inflammatory activity in the blood of both humans and horses.
Attendees at SupplySide West were interested not only in the study results, but also in the method of performing the studies. The methodology was developed by Oxis International, a medical research company of which Dr. Hausman is president. Oxis developed a way of testing antioxidative/anti-inflammatory activity in the blood of mammals, which is important because antioxidants help to counter the damage done to cells from oxidative stress.
At SupplySide West, Dr. Hausman presented results from two studies. One study involved human use of the Mushroom Matrix and the other study involved feeding the Mushroom Matrix to horses. The blood of both the humans and the horses was tested before and after supplementation with the Mushroom Matrix. The study results showed that the Mushroom Matrix did increase the level of antioxidative/anti-inflammatory activity in the blood, thus, increasing the body's ability to fight off oxidative stress. Several other studies are now either under way or in the planning stages to exam further the health benefits of the Mushroom Matrix.
The Mushroom Matrix, a special blend of organically-certified, medicinal mushrooms, is produced by Golden Gourmet Mushrooms of San Marcos, California, a pioneer in specialty mushroom cultivation in the U.S.
