Mushroom Matrix Users Jane Hannigan and Maksymilian Shine Bright at Prestigious Washington International Horse Show
Washington, D.C. - Jane Hannigan and her Mushroom Matrix-eating horse Maksymilian were one of only four horse and rider pairs invited to compete in this year's $25,000 Washington International Horse Show Dressage Invitational.
The Washington International Horse Show, held Oct. 9-14, is one of America's premier hunter/jumper competitions. Most of the show features jumping competitions, but every year, the show plays host to one special dressage competition that is by invitation only. The Dressage Invitational was held over two days and consisted of a Grand Prix competition and a Grand Prix Musical Freestyle competition. Hannigan and "Mak" finished second with a great score of 68.604 percent.
Hannigan and her 13-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding have been moving up the dressage ranks throughout the year and Hannigan credits the Mushroom Matrix for playing a role in her growing list of successes. She started Mak on the Matrix in the winter of 2007 and quickly discovered that it helped reduce his anxiety and made him more focused. Hannigan said the Matrix has completely changed him - for the better.
"It's like a whole different horse in there. So, I need to learn how to ride my relaxed horse," she said. "I've also noticed with Mak that the recovery rate is faster after exercise and I work him fairly hard. I also started feeding the Matrix to my young horse and he's building more muscle and coming along faster."
